Trauma Therapy

Trauma therapy for women and young adults healing from sexual assault, abuse and PTSD—you don’t have to carry it alone.

What happened to you was not your fault--and you don't have to carry it alone.

The feelings of fear, shame and guilt have had too much control for too long. These feelings creep into your body before you even realize it--tight chest, racing heart, a wave of numbness or panic you can’t explain. Maybe you’re having flashbacks, avoiding people or places, or reacting in ways that feel unfamiliar.  You feel like you are slowly losing the person you were before this traumatic event occurred. You might be wondering, Why can’t I just get over this?

Whether it was a single traumatic event, ongoing childhood abuse, or a sexual assault, trauma has a way of lingering in both your mind and body. It can leave you feeling disconnected—from yourself, your relationships, your goals, and even your own sense of safety. You might look “fine” on the outside while quietly fighting to keep it all together. My goal as your therapist is to provide you with a space where you can begin to heal from your past trauma, learn to trust yourself again, and live with more confidence.

Life doesn’t have to feel like a constant struggle. Trauma therapy can help you process what happened—on your timeline, without pressure or judgement. Together, we’ll work to quiet the noise of fear, rebuild trust in yourself, and create space for calmness, confidence, and connection.

I use trauma-informed, evidence-based approaches—including Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)—to help you reduce the intensity of traumatic memories, without needing to relive every detail. Whether you’re dealing with emotional triggers, anxiety, nightmares, or feeling stuck in survival mode, therapy is a safe place to begin healing.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) :

What kind of trauma do you treat?

I work with women who have experienced sexual assault, childhood abuse, emotional betrayal, or other traumatic events. Whether the event was recent or years ago, therapy can help you begin to heal.

What does trauma therapy look like with you?

We’ll start with an intake session to learn more about you and your goals. My approach is trauma-informed and client-centered—meaning you set the pace, and you will never be pushed to share more than you’re ready for. I use evidence-based methods like Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you feel more grounded, reduce trauma symptoms, and rebuild trust in yourself.

How fast can I expect to feel better?

Healing looks different for everyone. Some clients notice changes in just a few sessions; for others, it’s a gradual process over several months. Therapy is not about rushing—it’s about building safety, consistency, and small steps forward that add up to lasting change.

Do I need to relive my trauma in therapy?

Trauma therapy doesn’t always require you to retell or relive painful experiences. Approaches like ART allow you to reduce the intensity of memories and triggers without going into all the details. You’re always in control of how much you share.

Is this therapy right for college students or young adults?

Yes. I regularly work with college students and young adults navigating both trauma recovery and the challenges of early adulthood. Whether you’re adjusting to campus life or trying to break free from past trauma, therapy can help you feel more grounded, confident, and connected.

What if I feel overwhelmed or don’t know where to start?

That’s completely normal. Many clients begin therapy unsure of what to say or where to begin. You don’t have to have it all figured out. Even reaching out is a brave first step. Together, we’ll move at your pace and create a path forward.

You are not broken. Your reactions make sense. And healing is absolutely possible.

If you're struggling after trauma, I’m here to support you—with care, respect, and at a pace that feels right for you.
